Day 10652, 900 Miles later
Had a good, long day, of Driving from Winsted, CT to Charlotte, NC. It was relatively quick and painless. I think I may need to honestly study my posture in the car. It's great to be down here. I can't wait to have the week of relatively little seriousness.

Day 10600 long feeling productive day
It was an interesting day, I was the first up and about, and out the door...

I felt like I was balancing plates on stick in the morning. Heh. My most complicated delegation was implemented correctly on the wrong thing, irrelevantly, and to my amusement. I will correct it tomorrow.

I sort of can't wait for the weekend. Though I am excited about Friday for Folio. Tomorrow I will go shopping after work, and get to drool over all sorts of computers that are nice, and expensive, but I do not have the money to spend on them.

I am looking forward to Thanksgiving, even though it's a long way out. Also the Riverton Fair.

Day 10586 Tired and Dreary
Well, it's just another day of smashing technology. Things are legit annoying. Like Snow Leopard not printing well or fast or good. But then again the poster sized printer I'm using is acting like the JPEG I sent it is 90 gigs... it's only like a 44 meg file.

Maybe postscript encodes binary photo in PNM format...

Day 10575: teh Winsteds
So, I came up to Winsted for Breakfast. It was nice, we went to Kelly's Kitchen and the Kitchen Eggs were good. Mom is trying to get me to clean and organize up here, I'm on the couch and have been surrounded by crap to decide to throw out or keep.

I'm not really super motivated to do anything, but this is nothing new. Ye gods, there are floppy disks in this pile, and cassette tapes. I think that a nap might be in my future.

Apparently I'm going to take the air conditioners out of the windows today.

Day 10572
This first week of Fall 2009 Semester is flying by. It's busy, fun, and sometimes overwhelming.

It's bedtime soon. I think indeed now is a good time to give up on my daapd server tinkering and get the shut-eye I need.

Auto-Stalker Tools FTW
It looks like Google is opening up Latitude. And you can even make it not send you reminders that you're broadcasting your location to the world. I need to make something that produces a "guess" of where I am, because even "best effort" reporting is kind of "fuzzy" and bounces location around.

Day 10567
The rain is rather uninspiring. I think I will have to get breakfast and then figure out more. Something tells me this might involve going to work to clean my office and throw shit out. I think maybe an IKEA trip for frames might be in the cards.

Day 10560
Inglourious Basterds was ok. I don't know if I knew exactly what to expect and got something that was moderately decent. Resident Evil 5 from the little I've watched just now is... well, pretty bad. Had a nice walk going to get "fix a flat", the car we took lost a Valve Stem. Thinking Taco Bell might be in my near future.

Dunno what I'm doing tonight.

Day 10554: Cleaning Cleaning Cleaning
I spent the morning throwing out classwork I never intend to look at again. Yay! Well, that and other godawful paperwork that I had no need to keep. I found some gems in the mess I will have to share.

My dear mom noted that I am "growing a mustache" ... for the record, I was bored and figured why not... It may have to do with watching SuperTroopers recently... it was suggested I keep a visual record of the high style mustache growth. This I will do, if only for fun, and lack of more constructive things to do...

Day 10553
It would be lovely to be able to sleep in still. It appears that my ability to sleep in, and sometimes into the afternoon is gone. I guess I will have to go outside and enjoy the amazing day, I think hiking is in order after my haircut.

For the sake of the sake

So I have to give a shout out to my homies at WNPR. I miss them.

I also have to say life is good and fun. While I dislike the holidays for stress, I don't think I actually have stress.

Fundraising shouldn't be harassment
So, I need to just vent a minute. I like public radio, I have supported public radio. I supported WNPR. I don't know what executive thought it would be a good idea to hire a harassment firm to campaign for funds.

CPBN has hired a "Company" called Outreach Associates to harass prior donors. This company is evil. Nothing on the web reports anything good about them. They're tactics are dishonest and harassing. They call from an 866 number bank, at any and all times. They use an auto-dialer that is stupid, and don't have people respond quickly. What else, oh... they don't have any sort of caller id, which is an obvious tip off. I've gotten calls from 866-876-5908, 866-874-1837, 866-572-0054. I tried calling back, and all you get is a voicemail, which I left a message saying "remove my number xxx.xxx.xxxx from your system".

I finally answered a call, and managed to have a human at the other end, and told them the same. Why would I be getting a call at 8:49PM for fundraising?

Registered, set, Vote

I managed to procure time to vote that I believe should make me not stand in line. (aka going in late) I get to go to work late and stay late to cover for someone.

Also, who else wants to bring shedder paper bits to the polls and sprinkle it near the new voting machines? You can't deny they look exactly like an industrial shredder. Why didn't they make them have translucent sides?

Yahtzee is right, SMG 100% completion is for other people... insane people. ... ARGH

And I'm just awesome at it. Really.

I want to mention Southern Connecticut State University, where I work for fun, just to see if it ends up in the google alert I have set. Somehow I won't be surprised if it does.

I wonder if my friend Chris will ever find out if there is a way to speed up GE adoption of models... hrmph.

Day 9900: Recovery
I'm recovering from Halloween. I took the afternoon off to lay around and rest.

Looking at http://openid.net/ stuff. It's intriguing.

Day 9854: Moving stuff is FUN
I had a very productive weekend in some respects. I installed a door in my mother's house, where there used to be a window. It was... Ok, sort of a learning experience... At least I know what I'm getting myself into. Today I spent moving stuff with one of my friends, down three flights and back up three flights...

Tomorrow will be even more cool, since I work, and then drive someone from the airport...

I really need to get out more. I will have to score awesome plans for the coming weekend, that's all...

Day 9803: Apple R teh Konquerered
I have successfully crossed the country and have begun my insomnia driven quest to take over the State of the Governator. I started by having lunch at Apple. I let Ella play with my camera and we have some promising lolcat cat butt photos.

I need to start sleeping more than 4 hours at a time. I slept about 2 hours at Marks, woke up at 4am eastern time, went to the airport for my 6am flight... flew to Atlanta and then San Jose... It's now 9:38 Pacific which is 12:38 eastern...

On the todo list, Drink beer at Google for free, so what if I have to be some guy's date. In theory go to Apple to meet up with my buddy there, there might even be beer there too... Life is good.

PS collect more lolcat photos of the Cats here.

Good company? iPhone reflections.
When you're cracked out from working for too long and not having slept enough the previous night, and you start singing "Spider Pig.. " and a chorus of people join in and complete " Spider Pig, doing whatever Spider Pig does.." you may be in good company.

Hrm. Otherwise lets see, Florida was nice, I had a good time despite doing tech support, for the worst crap ever. I hate that modern DSL modems (not that they're modems) also typically have a router built into them now... Oh and any product that wants to use Windows to support a Video Survielance system is garbage.

Oh yeah, the uh... thing, I held an iPhone today. Not impressed. Slow, quiet, no incentive to get one.
